Structural & Periodic Inspections
Regular inspection is the most effective way to prevent unexpected breakdowns and workplace accidents. Since 2014 we have carried out structural inspections of construction machinery — concrete equipment in particular — in every region of Türkiye.
Scope
A structural inspection is more than a steel check.
A machine’s safe operation depends as much on its hydraulic and electrical systems as on its load-bearing structure. That is why our inspections cover four areas:
Steel structure & welds
Booms, chassis, outriggers and load-bearing members, inspected by our NDT-certified technicians using non-destructive methods.
Hydraulic system
Cylinders, hoses and fittings, pressure and tightness.
Electrical system
Controls, emergency stop and safety circuits.
Health & safety
Safety devices, warnings and markings.
Why is it necessary?
Cracks you cannot see
Steel structures fatigue over time, and fatigue shows up as cracks in the material or the welds. Most of these cracks cannot be seen with the naked eye and can lead to sudden, serious accidents such as a boom or outrigger failure.
Regulations & standards
- Under Turkish Occupational Health and Safety Law No. 6331, the Regulation on Health and Safety Requirements for the Use of Work Equipment (Official Gazette 25.04.2013, No. 28628) requires periodic inspections of work equipment to follow national and international standards, manufacturer data and good engineering practice.
- The standard that sets the periodic inspection criteria for concrete pumps is EN 12001 (TS EN 12001 in Türkiye). Our inspection forms follow the inspection reports in Annex B of this standard, based on Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC.
- Other construction machines are inspected according to the standard that applies to each machine.

Inspection interval by machine age
Intervals we apply to concrete pumps and placing booms, based on EN 12001 (clause 7.2.1.3) — whichever comes first:

The standard requires re-inspection at least once a year at any age; for machines aged 5 years and over, the intervals we apply are stricter than the standard for safety. Your report also states the date and operating hours of the next inspection.

Structural Inspection Report Verification
Check the authenticity, inspection date and validity of structural inspection reports issued by ONB, and download the signed report. Scanning the QR code on your report is enough.
